Alta Vista Regional Hospital (AVRH), a comprehensive, 54-bed, full-service facility offers a broad spectrum of integrated services. The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) shall be responsible for assisting in the monitoring and direct care of patients assigned to their unit under the dirction and supervision of a RN. The Telemetry Tech shall be responsible for monitoring the telemetry status and assigned cardiac monitors of each monitored patient in the ICU and for those being monitored in the Med Surg Unit. This technician is responsible for assessing and evaluating the telemetry care of patients and communicating those results to the assigned nursing staff. The Ward Clerk coordinates clerical activities with those of other professional, general, and supportive systems. The Ward Clerk acts as the focal point of communication on the nursing unit. Performs other duties incidental to the work described herein. Must be familiar with hospital policies and procedures.
Minimum of High School Diploma or Equivalency Diploma (GED).
At least six months as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in a hospital environment, preferably in the area of application. Minimum of one (1) year experience with clerical duties preferred. Must have a firm understanding of medical terminology. EKG and rhythm interpretation required. Must be able to follow directions and perform work according to department standards as defined and described on individual department competencies. Must be emotionally mature and able to function effectively under stress.
Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in New Mexico. Must obtain and maintain a current certification in CPR within 30 days of employment. Must obtain and maintain a current training certificate in EKG Monitoring.
