The Huntington, West Virginia Manufacturing campus employees more than 750 people who support the manufacture of Intraocular Lens (IOLs) and IOL delivery systems. Alcon is ranked first in world-wide sale and distribution of IOLs, and the majority of lenses sold throughout the world are made at the Huntington facility.
Overall Job Summary: . Management of the materials functions, including demand planning, warehouse and stockroom management, shipping, inventory control, and customer service. Facilitates and promotes improvement programs which result in the overall reduction of global inventories of products manufactured in the plant while improving stock availability levels and reducing overall cycle times. Participate in Global Supply Chain strategy and project development. Lead and develop associates in the Materials Dept. Contribute to strategic planning activities with the management team.
Minimum Education Requirements: Bachelors Degree in Business, Economics or related technical field.
Minimum Experience Requirements: 8-10 years of progressive materials management responsibility with experience in planning, inventory management, managerial responsibilities. Five (5) years of experience managing mid or upper level exempt and non-exempt employees within Materials Management or a closely related job function. Thorough understanding and operational experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Strong knowledge of SAP, Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and materials control systems. Thorough understanding of production planning, shop floor control, S & OP and project management. Understanding of the regulatory environment, cGMP, and validation as it relates to the Materials Management function.
Highly Desired Experience: Scheduling experience with high SKU count production, hands on experience of lean scheduling principles, direct experience with conversion from one ERP system to another, experience with product launch execution.
Previous experience in medical device or pharmaceutical manufacturing would be considered a plus. Experience as a production line supervisor would be highly beneficial. CSCMP and/or APICS certification preferred or in process.
