Completes prior authorization forms for medication and submits to respective insurance for approval, follow-up via telephone if the event arises. Retrieves messages from the Medication Line and collect information regarding the phone contact, such as name, date of birth, medication, and problem. Completes laboratory slips, including demographics, insurance info, and tests to be run for wellness clinic for each patient who is to have blood work drawn. Reviews with supervising nurse charts of individuals that are requesting to have refills called into pharmacy. Contacts pharmacy to authorize medications under the direct order of a physician or PA-C. Maintains communication with physicians and physicians assistant regarding medical or psychiatric symptoms concerns patients. Faxes lab results to primary care physicians at the request of Psychiatrist or PA-C. Assesses clients with complaints of medical issues, and refer to PCP, ER, or 911 for follow-up care as needed. Contacts Laboratory departments to request copies of laboratory studies completed on patients, and forward to appropriate physician for review. Assists consumers when completing Patient Assistance forms from individual pharmaceutical companies in order to receive medication coverage.
Must have a valid CNA license.
