High School diploma. Associates degree preferred.
Prior experience preferred.
Must be registered with the CT Department of Consume Protection as a Pharmacy Technician. Must be a national Certified Pharmacy Technician or obtain this certification within one year of date of hire. Currently enrolled students in a School of Pharmacy are exempt from this requirement.
The Pharmacy Technician performs a variety of duties to assist the staff pharmacist. Duties may include ordering, inventory control, preparing IV admixtures, packaging, labeling and distribution of medication and other pharmacy supplies needed for use in the hospital. Also, assisting with, and maintaining written records, as required. Works under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, practicing under the scope of State and Federal Laws and Statutes.
