Ortho Clinical Diagnostics, Inc., a Johnson & Johnson company, is recruiting for a Quality Assurance Associate II as part of our Quality Assurance - Microbiology Department in Raritan, NJ.

The Quality Assurance (QA) Associate II is responsible for routine and non-routine microbiological sampling and testing according to established procedures or approved protocols. Key responsibilities for the QA Associate II include the following. Perform raw material, intermediate, final product and non-routine microbiological testing (bioburden by membrane filtration, bioburden by Most Probable Number, bioburden by Pour Plate Method, bacterial endotoxin testing, etc.). Perform process water and compressed air utility sampling and testing. Perform environmental monitoring sampling throughout the manufacturing facility. Document results clearly and accurately. Perform data entry of test results. Interpret results by comparing against appropriate specifications or requirements. Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment and maintain supplies inventory levels. Participate in laboratory investigations, technology transfer, validation and R&D projects.
A minimum of a high school diploma is required. Associate Degree is preferred. A minimum of 2 years of relevant coursework toward a Bachelor Degree OR relevant work experience in a lab is required.
Microbiology experience, working in a GMP environment is preferred. Position requires good written and oral communication skills and the ability to work independently. Must exhibit strong customer focus and be willing to work some weekends depending on manufacturing schedules. Experience with automated endotoxin testing equipment is preferred. Some lifting, not to exceed 50 pounds. Manual dexterity for handling instruments and repetitive motions. Standing for long periods of time. Dexterity required to perform Aseptic Gowning. Must be able to squat, bend, and/or reach in order to collect utility samples throughout the manufacturing facility. This position is located in our Raritan, NJ manufacturing facility.
