Primary Responsibility

Assists the Unit Director and Administrative Services Manager in planning, organizing, developing, implementing and directing all primary functions of programs within the Victim Witness Services Unit, including preparation of data necessary for the annual budgets, grant applications, maintaining necessary financial activity records, and submitting required reports.

Directs and supervises personnel and daily operations assigned to the Victim Witness Services Unit District Attorney's Office of Victim Witness Services Unit delivered at District Attorney Justice Center locations. This includes administering program development, implementation and evaluation, of volunteer and general program services, with emphasis in the area of domestic violence.

Examples of Important and Essential Duties:
Assists the Unit Director and Administrative Services Manager in planning, organizing, developing, implementing and directing all primary functions of programs within the Victim Witness Services Unit, including preparation of data necessary for the annual budgets, grant applications, maintaining necessary financial activity records, and submitting required reports.

Provides direct supervision for thirteen Unit employees and conducts employee performance evaluations.

Represents the Unit and the District Attorney's office at various local and state meetings and / or activities, including performing public speaking relative to victim services issues, Fast Track Program and DA Office volunteer program services, to community and law enforcement agencies.

Ensures that all court divisions have adequate coverage specific to victim advocacy, VRA compliance and witness management services for scheduled court hearings for DA Office locations at Adams and Broomfield Justice Centers.

Serves as primary contact and resource for daily on-site Justice Center operations regarding Victim Witness Services Unit advocacy services for victims and witnesses and witness management services for deputy district attorneys.

Recruits, screens, trains, monitors and evaluates daily activities of volunteers and interns providing direct services to victims at the both Adams and Broomfield County Justice Centers.

Serves as a primary resource for the District Attorney's office regarding the development, implementation and evaluation of policies and procedures for Fast Track Domestic Violence Program. This includes volunteer program services, victim / witness and criminal justice system process issues related to the prosecution of domestic violence crimes.

Direct support and assistance to victims/witnesses of crime, by telephone or in person; may include provision of direct services in the course of ensuring adequate courthouse coverage for Unit operations.

Requirements:
Bachelors degree in criminal justice, social work, human services, public administration or related field.

Minimum of two years experience and demonstrable ability to train and supervise paid
personnel in a criminal justice and /or community based victim services program.

Knowledge and skill in grant and report writing.

Knowledge and skill in program development, implementation and evaluation methods directly related to the delivery of victim centered services for victims and witnesses of crime

Special Requirements:
Prior professional experience in a prosecutor office setting is preferred.
