iTunes is seeking a Senior Data Analyst with experience leading advanced data analytics, data transformation and data management projects. An ideal candidate will have a balance of technical know-how and business savvy, with first-hand enterprise database management experience. Candidates must be able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with aggressive timelines. Position reports into the iTunes Program Management Office based in Cupertino, CA.
Hands-on experience with data modeling, database design, master data management and data profiling in a large-scale database environment.
Working knowledge of Unix/Perl/Python scripting, ETL design and Teradata/Oracle SQL. Familiarity with database modeling and data warehousing principles.
Ability to work as individual contributor, team member, and lead as needed
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral including the ability to exercise professional discretion in communication with cross functional teams and vendors.
High level of professionalism, energy and sense of urgency to “make things happen.”
Relevant and proven experience building business intelligence, business analytics, data mining, and advanced profiling environments.
Act as data steward with ongoing responsibility for sourcing, processing and validating data quality.
Develop deep understand of Apple’s databases and transactional system environments.
Engage directly and deeply with business to understand requirements and translate into meaningful projects.
Documentation and communication.
Conduct regular and ad-hoc analyses on various data warehouses.
Proven track record of building analytic database environments with measurable business impact.
Recent industry experience working on analytical database projects with demonstrable SQL proficiency (Teradata or Oracle preferred)
Experience working with Big Data environments (Hadoop) is a plus
Analytical, logical and problem solving skills
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer information systems or related study. Masters preferred.
Interest in learning SAS or other statistical tools
