Post by Jobing - THIS POSITION WILL REMAIN OPEN UNTIL FILLED. THIS POSITION IS NOT SUBJECT TO THE PROVISIONS OF THE PERSONNEL RULES OF ARIZONA STATE SERVICE. We are in search of a qualified Dental Program Manager to oversee the total dental resources allocated to the statewide correctional health care delivery system. In this position, you will maintain effective and cost efficient dental services for inmate population; develop strategic and operational dental services policies and procedures; facilitate professional in–service continuing dental education and training for dental staff; serve as member of the Health Services Executive Management Team coordinating dental services with other medical disciplines represented within the health care delivery system; indirectly supervise professional dental subordinate supervisors and other staff; travel to statewide correctional facilities; and perform other duties appropriate to the assignment.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSAs): KNOWLEDGE: Of organizational and management practices; principles, concepts and current practices of effective dental care and treatment, and of etiology and diagnostic procedures in oral pathology; rules, regulations and laws related to dentistry; effective methods and techniques of oral surgery and treatment of facial fractures; and professional dental pre–service and in–service training process and resources. SKILL: In management and leadership of a professional medical discipline group of practitioners; analyzing and solving high level strategic administrative problems; and verbal and written communications; . ABILITY: To work in a prison environment; travel to remote correctional locations; establish solid working relationships; and use a personal computer and associated software. SPECIAL SELECTION FACTOR: Must possess a current license to practice dentistry in the State of Arizona, applicant must provide license number on resume and a copy of license at time of interview.
Also, must possess a valid Arizona Driver License at time of appointment. PRE–EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENT(S): Employment is contingent on the successful applicant passing a background investigation. RETIREMENT: Positions in this classification participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS).
