Responsibilities:

Business Attraction/Recruitment
  • Acts as single point of contact for customers and stakeholders
  • Responds to business inquiries via phone, e-mail, formal letters, and internal referrals
  • Conducts research on potential customers, marketplace, and other states
  • Gathers customer information and business requirements
  • Coordinates efforts with local economic development professionals and chambers of commerce to compile information into a formal proposal
  • Presents proposal regarding site location, workforce information and other business related subjects to company/site selector interested in locating in Idaho
  • Coordinates all aspects of site visits to include budget, travel, meals, facility tours, and stakeholder meetings
  • Identifies when it may be necessary or beneficial to include upper management or the Governor’s Office
  • Analyzes financial impacts of Idaho incentives
  • Prepares cost comparisons and estimates on state utility rates, labor costs, fringe benefits, tax rates, worker's compensation, transportation costs, land use, capital formation resources, workforce training programs and other incentives
  • Examines existing work flow of the Business Attraction group and provides input to enhance internal procedures to better serve new and existing customers
Customer Relationship Management
  • Serves both domestic companies that are looking to expand or relocate and site selectors who look for sites on behalf of a third party customer
  • Establishes knowledge of, and strong working relationships with, customers and stakeholders
  • Coordinates with state, federal, and regional sources to maximize the benefit to the customer and provide a high level of response to their requests
Community Networking
  • Serves as a liaison to local units of government, chambers of commerce, state agencies, and private sector organizations and economic development professionals on a broad range of economic development activities
  • Establishes a network of private and public contacts to promote Idaho as a business expansion or relocation site
  • Manages market-specific trade show involvement
  • Coordinates logistics with economic development professionals and trade show personnel
  • Researches appropriate market, sets appointments, develops collateral
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Good knowledge of business development and marketing concepts
  • Experience:
    • making business contacts or sales calls, and developing business relationships
    • making presentations to groups
    • writing effective business correspondence
