The Integrated Systems Group of SAIC has a career opening for Net-Centric Security Engineer (NCSE) in Columbia, Maryland.
The Net-Centric Security Engineer (NCSE) will provide Test and Evaluation, IA Architecture Analysis, and Security Engineering Support for the implementation and fielding of the Distributed Nuclear/National Command and Control Architecture (DNC2)/ in support of Senior Leader communications.
-Design and development of secure architectures including system security requirements analysis, system security requirements allocation, risk-based trade-off analysis, and secure system definition and development.
-Work with government agencies on IA focused projects and initiatives
-Assist with evaluations of network design, web security appliances, and network communication devices;
-Perform product evaluations and documents the necessary findings and/or recommendations in white papers, position papers, and technical review documents.
-Serve as the group’s systems design architect including updating and maintaining a repository of design drawings, and IA specifications.
-Prepare IA lab equipment for evaluation of IA products, prepare project plans, tasks, and documentation to support IA demonstrations, and carry out configuration management of an IA lab.
-Support COTS and GOTS security testing in both the SOA and traditional network architecture.
Portions of SAIC to be renamed Leidos, Inc., subject to stockholder approval and consummation of a separation transaction if approved by SAIC board of directors.
SAIC is pursuing a plan to separate into two independently traded companies; one that provides technical, engineering and enterprise information technology services primarily to the U.S. government (new SAIC), and one that delivers technical solutions in national security, engineering and health (Leidos, Inc.).
-Master's degree and 15+ years of experience in Net-Centric Security or Information Assurance with a Systems Security Engineering background.
-Experience performing or reviewing technical security assessments of computing environments to identify points of vulnerability, non-compliance with established Net-Centric Security, and Information Assurance (IA) standards and regulations.
-Experience recommending mitigation strategies for system security threats/risks throughout the program life cycle, validating system security requirements definitions and analysis, establishing system security designs, and verifying security requirements.
-Demonstrated understanding of secure systems engineering development, including system security requirements analysis, system security requirments allocation, trade-off analysis, other system security analyses, and secure system definition and specification development.
-Demonstrated understanding of IA initiatives within the DoD and the Intelligence Community.
-In-depth knowledge of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), Web Services, Extensible Markup Language (XML), XML Digital Signatures, Hash functions, and access control
-Working knowledge of MS Visio to include development of detailed network diagrams
-Currently possess a TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance.
-Possession of an IAT Level III or IAM Level III DoD approved 8570 baseline certification.
-Experience and understanding of active cyber defense techniques, products and architectures.
-Experience or knowledge of cross domain device implementation.
-Experience in virtual desktop environments.
-Experience or knowledge of the Nuclear Command & Control (NC2) community.
-Ability to present briefings to senior level DOD officials in both prepared briefings and/or in ad hoc discussion.
