Responsibility for the planning, overall administration and management, and profitability of the company. Accountability for all activities and departments in the delivery of hospice services. Responsible for organizing and supervising the administrative functions of the hospice including budgeting, accounting, data collection, record maintenance and employee practices. Ensures compliance with Federal and State regulations as well as other accrediting bodies.
1. Developing and Expanding Revenue Performance
Based on the company business plan and revenue budgets, develops and maintains key relationships with hospitals, nursing homes, physicians and other healthcare organizations. Manages the implementation phase of contracting institutions and implemented with positive results to the hospice, according to applicable state and federal law.
Serves dual role as "Sales Manager" for the hospice site. Responsible for the supervision and professional development of the site's Community Outreach Representatives. Establishes and implements overall growth strategy for the site. Develops and maintains relationships with hospitals, nursing homes, physicians and other healthcare organization capable of making hospice referrals. Initiates new relationships and improves the value of existing ones including the resolution of complaints, providing educational inservices and continually seeking the overall refinement and improvement of patient care services.
Responsible for supervision of day-to-day operations of the program including, but not limited to, the following: Financial Management, Employment process, Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement, Payroll Expense, Admissions, Medical Staff, Business Plan Development, Human Resource Policy Enforcement, Staff Development
2. Overseeing the Company Operational System
By implementing the company's systems, policies and standards, the Executive Director assures that the hospice meets all applicable regulatory requirements of agencies and assumes responsibility for the readiness of the hospice to meet all inspections, surveys, and review including state licensure, and federal certifications.
Assures polices in the following manner: Supervising the compliance of all administrative functions and policies with applicable regulatory agencies. Maintaining updated copies of all applicable regulations, statutes and policies and procedures.
3. Responsible for the patient and Family Services Program at the Hospice. Overall responsibility for the clinical services function at the hospice including the home, hospital settings, nursing homes, and other locations.
4. Representing the Company in the Community
The Executive Director is the official spokesperson of the company in the community; manages public relations, generates and responds to all opportunities for medical requests in coordination with the corporate communication department, and assures the handling and resolution of any complaints from patients, families, and the public.
5. Cost Containment
Verifies/approves admitting IPOC diagnosis, treatments, staffing and supplies.
Monitors utilization of resources by every patient to assure cost effective delivery of services.

Bachelor's degree required
Knowledge of Dayton healthcare market
Five years previous managerial experience.
Sales/business development experience required.
Hospice experience at a director level preferred.
Ability to relate to superior, peers, and subordinates.
Demonstrate leadership skills and the proven ability to lead, motivate and organize teams.
Demonstrated ability in program development and administration to include knowledge of health care policies and reimbursement practices.
Demonstrated experience in strategic planning and development.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
