Position Title: GFE Project Control Specialist Requisition No: MSG 4-010313

Location: 80 M Street, Washington, DC

Position Description

Responsible for logistics and inventory control of Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) for the US Navy’s DDG 51 Class Shipbuilding Program to include environmental testing and first article testing.

Accountabilities
  • Plan, develop, implement and coordinate GFE program requirements and key processes.
  • Develop and maintain GFE/ Government Furnished Information (GFI) management metrics.
  • Develop, update and archive as required GFE and GFI documentation, to include Schedules A, B or C; Ship Planning Documents (SPD).
  • Work closely with Participating Acquisition Resource Manager (PARM) to identify and resolve any risks or issues related to the delivery of GFE and GFI in accordance with contracts requirements.
  • Manage the information, verification, tracking and approval process a GFE schedule.
  • Provide comprehensive services to program GFE and GFI Managers in their management of government furnished material provided to the shipbuilder.
  • Ability to work independently as required.
Required Qualifications
  • Four or more years of project management experience.
  • Experience working with delivery assurance principles and appropriate procedures.
  • Experience in some if not all of the following:
- Total ship design integration and engineering including clean sheet design efforts, modifications and repair package development.
  • Proficiency with MS Office.
  • Familiarity with applicable US Navy shipbuilding specifications and US Navy Environmental Qualification Testing (EQT) specifications and standards.
  • Strong understanding of ship construction techniques.
  • Ability to travel locally and nationally.
Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marine Engineering or related field.
  • PE license and shipyard experience.
