Reporting to the Programmer Lead, the incumbent is assigned to application and web development as well as integration projects that include Columbia Law School Registration Services System

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support and enhance the front-end of the web based Registration Services System. Provide support for the Web User Interface (developed on GWT) by responding to enhancements requests and fixing possible bugs; Develop web applications as well as mobile ones for various Law School departments. Integrate them with Registration Services System. Enhance Columbia Law School portal system (Lawnet); Migrate legacy client servers and/or web applications from old platforms into Web 2.0 and mobile environments as well as integrating them with the Registration Services system; Design, develop and implementing various departmental web applications for CLS Learning Management System including but not limited to online Take Home Exam; Train faculty, administrators and staff in the use of LawNet and the Registration Services System. Provide technical support with respect to business needs, software functionality, reporting, and interfaces; Write documentation and online help systems for newly developed applications. Install/Upgrade/Evaluate new software including cutting edge Web 2.0 development tools. Perform other duties as needed or required.

Minimum Qualifications for Grade
Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant

Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science or related field and at least 2 years of full-time related programming experience required. Required technical experience includes: experience in writing GWT applications, strong Java, experience in developing programs/applications using state-of-the art Web 2.0 tools, Hibernate, JSP/AJAX, Javascript, JQuery, CSS, RSS. Qualifications also include: familiarity wh web portals and portlets development, good knowledge of RDBS especially Oracle, and/or MySQL. Working knowledge using application building tools such as Maven/Eclipse is essential. Unix shells and other scripting languages is a plus. The candidate should be willing to learn new programming technologies and must possess excellent communications and interpersonal skills
