Nebraska Book Company is looking for an Inventory Analyst to join our team!
The purpose of the position is to Take
ownership of Inventory Balances, which includes count and valuation at month
end. Responsible for reconciliation
of all inventory G/L accounts and any reserves/allowances thereto. Additionally, duties include compliance
and reconciliation functions to ensure accuracy, as well as monitoring,
trending, and analyzing functions to focus operational improvement activities.
Reports to Inventory Control Manager.

Be an integral team player on meeting monthly
close process and deadlines.
Analyze Inventory accounts for monthly close
& performance reporting packages.
Analyze Gross Margin variances and Inventory
Adjustments data monthly
Maintain value/costing of inventory.

Provide process improvement related to system
transactions and workflow.
Create and analyze various metrics and report
on shrinkage, trends and inventory accuracy to management team.

Develop and maintain accurate, consistent, and
enhanced inventory controls, processes, and procedures.
Monitor outstanding credit requests large
balances report
Monitor and track trends in inventory,
inventory exceptions, inventory adjustments


Minimum 2 year degree. Additionally, Managerial/Cost Accounting
Coursework preferred.

2 years analyst experience taking large data
sets and creating meaningful reports
Understanding of wholesale and/or retail in
e-commerce environment
Understanding of product flow along with unit and value
Retail experience preferred in a high-volume
multi-location environment.

Detail oriented with a high level of accuracy.

Demonstrated reconciliation/analytical
written and verbal communication with the ability to articulate thoughts
Demonstrated ability to define problems,
collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to
exercise independent judgment
Able to work under deadline pressure.
Good rapport building skills.
Great problem solving skills.
Ability to work independently w/ minimal
direction producing positive results
Organizationally sensitive with the ability to interact positively
with employees at all levels of the organization

Advanced Microsoft Excel( Macros, Pivot
Tables, VLookups, Complex Formulas) & MS Access
Intermediate Microsoft Word & PowerPoint
Experience using software systems to export and import data.
