A trainer and instructional designer, reporting to the Director of Learning and Development, responsible for analyzing needs, crafting learning objectives, designing, developing and delivering courses across multiple McCarthy disciplines. This individual will be required to select and implement appropriate instructional, presentation, and delivery methods based on the outcomes required of the course or program as well as support the ongoing operations of the training department including, but not limited to, event/program management, LMS administration, curriculum management and course evaluation.


Instructional Design:
• Collaborate and conduct needs assessments with diverse subject matter experts
• Identify appropriate training approaches
• Design curriculum, programs, or learning solutions as appropriate
• Design and develop instructional materials
• Revise and repurpose building skills and policies and procedures content to account for ongoing changes/updates
Training Delivery:
• Prepare for training programs including event planning and organization
• Align training approach with course objectives and learner needs
• Establish credibility with all audiences: field operations, divisional administration, etc.
• Facilitate learning, encourage participation, and motivate learners
• Evaluate courses and make changes based on feedback
Learning Technology:
• Use LMS to setup, track and report on training events and sessions
• Partner with e-learning developer to design and develop online courses
• Design, develop, and deliver both synchronous and asynchronous learning events
using standard industry tools and methods
Training Operations Support:
• Partner with Divisional Training team to provide appropriate training solutions
• Maintain all training curriculums and provide recommendations based on business needs
• Provide training logistics and event management support where applicable


• Bachelor’s degree in Training, Human Resource Development, Communications or related field
• 5+ yrs. experience implementing training solutions including needs analysis, instructional design, facilitation and evaluation
• Highly motivated individual with proven experience applying instructional design principles resulting in the implementation of effective training solutions
• Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain key relationships with project owners and subject matter experts
• Candidate must be able to demonstrate effective presentation/facilitation skills, oral and written communication skills and strong technical skills
• Ability to effectively use web/video conferencing to deliver training
• Experience developing and managing curriculums based on position specific needs
• Experience with administration and reporting features within Learning Management Systems;
Cornerstone OnDemand preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word.
• Experience with Adobe Captivate, Lectora or other course authoring tools preferred
• Demonstrates ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
