Act as the focal point for customer service.
Collaborate with the healthcare team, patients/families, payers, physician offices and other community agencies ensuring a team environment.
Verify and obtain benefits levels from insurance carriers and employers when applicable and maintains appropriate and accurate documentation, both written and electronically.
Actively participate in Quality Improvement programs by identifying opportunities and recommending solutions.
Be responsible to obtain the necessary knowledge and experience to perform job tasks in compliance with federal, state, and local laws, regulations and guidelines.
Required qualifications for this position include:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Two years experience in business or financial office.
Must have tact and understanding to deal with patients and family members.
Understanding of the confidential nature of the information and thorough understanding of the appropriate behavior this requires.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Two years experience in hospital setting preferred.
