Summary: Supports the production process by preparing and releasing orders, existing blueprints and Bill of Materials to the production floor daily.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following and other duties as assigned :

Support order release process to the floor by reviewing, editing and submitting order paperwork to various production departments.

Make entries into the automated computer system to ensure orders are entered into the system and available for scheduling production based on client due dates and purchased parts availability.

Review and process change orders. Ensure accuracy and availability of data to ensure production requirements and shipping dates are within guidelines and rules.

Assist in the implementation of lean initiatives through team participation and leadership.

Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual physical inventories.

Assist with order entry as required to support the customer service representative.

Maintain environmental recordkeeping systems, filing and data entry. Collect daily/weekly environmental compliance records and enter them in the appropriate data base to ensure location compliance with external compliance agencies and internal corporate requirements. Audits records monthly to ensure all records are maintained correctly.

Supervisory duties: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Excellent interpersonal skills needed to work with shop floor, supervision and engineering. Ability to work on multiple projects and assignments is critical.

Education and/or experience : High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) required. Two years of direct manufacturing experience preferred. Some college coursework preferred.

Language Skills : Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, production leads, craft workers, clients and customers.

Mathematical skills : Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning ability : Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer skills : To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook, Access, and the ability to master AS400.

Other Qualifications : Knowledge of Bill of Materials is required. Knowledge of fabrication, welding, and assembly equipment and processes is highly desirable. Knowledge of what we bill and what we buy is also highly desirable.
