Northrop Grumman Information Systems sector is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Huntsville, AL. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman Fires Command and Control Systems Air and Missile Defense Planning and Control Systems (AMDPCS) and Warn 3.0 Product Development Team. These systems provide the capabilities to conduct Air Defense, Airspace Management and Counter Rocket, Artillery and Mortar missions to counter the Air, Theater Ballistic Missile (TBM) and Indirect Fire (IDF) threat in the tactical US Army environment. The qualified applicant will provide engineering support to conduct concept and requirements development, perform trade and technical studies, integrate command, control, communications and computer (C4) equipment and provide support to test, exercise and unit fielding events.
In a team environment the selected applicants will perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
Bachelors of Science in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science or other technical field
2+ years of experience in an engineering capacity, mechanical and electrical engineering backgrounds.
Experience in requirements development, trade studies, engineering drawings
Excellent oral and written communications skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio) and CAD tools (AutoCAD, Solidworks)
Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance
Experience with tactical Army Air Defense systems
Experience with Counter Rocket, Artillery and Mortar Systems
Experience in all phases of the product development cycle to include design, test and fielding
Position prefers a candidate with a current Secret Clearance
