Astek Corporation is seeking an experienced Material/Quality Engineer

This individual will support the manufacturing line and ensure purchased components meet specifications for the manufacturing of high-speed electronic assemblies. In addition, the individual will be responsible for managing all the manufacturing line items used in the various processes to manufacture electronic components and assemblies used in high-speed applications.

The candidate must have a four year technical degree and five years experience.

Ideal Candidates will have:
5+ years direct experience working and supporting line items used on a manufacturing line,

Good process background experience in manufacturing electronic modules and assemblies.

Experience determining quality metrics for the manufacturing of electronic component and module assemblies

Proven track record of reducing non-conforming material from vendors,

Proven track record of working with vendors and reducing the overall cost of incoming inspection

Experience with incoming quality inspection of components, materials, chemicals and epoxies

Experience with pushing back incoming inspection steps to the vendor,

Ability to read drawings and prints provided by Process, Design and Product Engineers

Use quality metrics to measure quality level and determine if it meets the Acceptable Quality Level (AQL)

Familiar with selecting sample plans for quality measurements

Ability to perform Design of Experiments (DOE)

Ability to make recommendations for Continuous Process Improvement (CPI)

Experienced with Statistical Process Control (SPC)

Root Cause Analysis skills

Ability to use micrometers and other gauge equipments to verify compliance to fab drawings

Experience with Surface Mount Technologies (SMT) and probe assembly

ROHS experience a plus

Experience with wire bond and die attach processes a plus

Familiar with Thick and Thin film processing techniques a plus

Familiar with standard semiconductor processing techniques a plus

Experience with multi-chip module assemblies a plus

Experience using Certificate of Conformance's (COCs) on purchase orders,

Materials Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or Quality Assurance experience a real plus, and

Experience working within an ISO 9001 certified organization.

Candidates must have a four year technical degree and 5 years experience supporting a manufacturing line.
