Job Description:
Raytheon is currently seeking a mid- to senior-level

Systems Administrator

that will perform system administration and support of multiple operating systems and networks.

Information Technology support primarily includesWindows 2003 Server and XP Workstation operating systems, and limited Linux operating systems on TCP/IP-based networks.

Duties and responsibilities:
·

Maintain computer and network configurations and monitoring computer/system performance

·

Work with engineering and operations teams to troubleshoot problems and support systems in a 24x7 operating environment

·

Perform operating system and hardware upgrades, including system and security patch installations

·

Create and maintain system reconstitutions procedures, and perform periodic system backups

·

Develop and implement scripts to improved system performance and maintainability

·

Create and maintain system documentation, model definitions, users guides and troubleshooting procedures

·

Some overtime including nights and weekends may be required on occasion

This position can be a Salary Grade

E02

or

E03

based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position.

Required Skills:
·

Must have a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or a related course of study and experience in the following:

·

grade/level E02

position requires

a minimum of

2+ years

experience performing system administration in current Windows operating systems as well as a working knowledge of UNIX and LINUX.

Equivalent experience required without a BS/BA Degree is 10 years.

A

grade/level

E03

position requires

a minimum of

4+ years

experience performing system administration in current Windows operating systems as well as a working knowledge of UNIX and LINUX.

Equivalent experience required without a BS/BA Degree is 12 years.

Must have knowledge of network topologies and network protocols (i.e. TCP/IP and SNMP)

·

Must have strong teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats

·

Must be available to work some overtime, including nights and weekends, when required

Qualified applicants will be subject to a security investigation and must meet minimum qualifications for access to classified information.

An active or current (active within the last five years)

TS/SCI SSBI security clearance

and US Citizenship required.

Desired Skills:

Familiarity with network/security hardening processes and procedures

·

Familiarity with Government security accreditation processes and requirements

·

Self-starter with the ability to multi-task and work in an operations-focused real-time environment

·

Ability to work well in a small team environment and possess the ability to overcome obstacles in accomplishing goals
