This position is Tues-Sat, 8:30am - 5:30pm
Routes shipments to distribution centers by building loads, including load exceptions; designating carriers; determining load ratings and fees using Transportation Management systems (for example: HOST, DCS2000) and other resources (for example: carrier routing guides). Coordinating with team members to find alternative solutions and elevating exceptions to supervisor or manager.
Troubleshoots shipment problems, load and shipment exceptions, and re-assignments by researching the root cause of issues for carriers and suppliers. Re-assigning and tracking loads in event of failures (for example, complying with the must arrive by date (MABD) and federal/product compatibility guidelines); and reporting exceptions to the appropriate party.
Communicates with and prepares daily reports for traffic leadership, merchandising, replenishment, carriers, and suppliers on events, loads, and purchase order tracking by ensuring on time delivery to distribution centers, stores, clubs, and consolidators. Monitoring and responding to supplier's and carrier's communications to ensure product is delivered in full and on time.
Provides customer service for internal customers, suppliers, and carriers by providing education on Walmart policies. Gathering all pertinent information from carriers, suppliers, Replenishment, Store Planning, & Marketing. Entering the information into the Transportation System; tracking and tracing all purchase orders and loads created in advance of events. Alerting internal and external customers regarding the status of shipments and coordinating with center point operations to ensure loads related to event programs arrive to meet delivery window.
Develops and expands skills and knowledge of all processes within department by pursuing cross training and taking classes. Sharing knowledge and experiences with peers, and participating occasionally to validate new functionality in systems.
Completes work assignments and priorities in Transportation by using policies, data, and resources. Collaborating with managers, co-workers, customers, and other business partners. Identifying priorities, deadlines, and expectations. Carrying out tasks, communicating progress and information. Determining and recommending ways to address improvement opportunities and adapting to and learning from change, difficulties, and feedback.
Complies with company policies, procedures and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans. Using Open Door policy, and applying these in executing business processes and practices.
1 year experience with Word and Database Applications (i.e. MS-Office, Word, Excel).
Additional Preferred Quailification
Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, ten key, typing, good telecommunication, analytical, organization and ability to perform multiple tasks, solid verbal written communication, must be able to work within a team environment.
