The Department of Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation Science (PTRS) currently has an exciting opportunity for a Coordinator . This position, under general supervision, will plan, coordinate, and oversee a variety of professional and administrative activities related to the efficient day to day operation of the department. The Coordinator reports to the Chair of the Department of Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation Science and provides executive administrative support to the Chair, Vice Chairs, and the Department Administrator. The incumbent will regularly handle matters of a highly confidential or sensitive nature.
Essential Functions:
Ø
Provides general planning and direction in order to develop and facilitate the day to day activities and events within a specific organizational program.
Ø
Serves as APT (Appointments, Promotions and Tenure) Coordinator for the department; prepares faculty appointment packets and maintains faculty and adjunct faculty databases.
Ø
Coordinates travel arrangements for faculty, candidates, and guest speakers and presenters.
Ø
Coordinates department-wide events including catering, facilities; facilitates all aspects of the event.
Ø
Produces and edits the regular publication of summary reports and program proposals as well as various promotional materials and journal articles.
Ø
Develops and maintains databases used to collect and analyze data for accreditation, track expenditures, monitor and evaluate program policies and procedures.
Ø
Provides executive administrative support for CAPTE reaccreditation and annual accreditation reports.
Ø
Supervises staff and/or volunteers and ensures the efficient recruitment/interviewing and training functions for maintaining highly involved and motivated employees.
Ø
Performs other administrative duties having a significant impact on the overall goals of the function, program, and/or department as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Ø
Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Ø
2 years of experience in an appropriate field.
Ø
Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Skill in exercising initiative, resourcefulness, and sound judgment with an ability to solve problems and make decisions.

Ability to prioritize ongoing and new projects necessary to implement a specific organizational program.

Ability to work in a fast paced environment and skill in multi-tasking projects and multiple deadlines
ü
Skill in continuously seeking to improve the quality of services and processes.
ü
Skill in relevant PC applications; must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
