The Quality Engineer will work closely with quality management, engineers, plant personnel, suppliers and customers to ensure successful and efficient product and program, launches and process development.Quality Engineer will recommend and implement continuous improvement opportunities and corrective initiatives via process auditresults and customer feedback.- Assist QA department and Plant Manager with the development,implementation and compliance of the company quality system. Follows the Quality Management System requirements as outlined in the applicable QMS procedures and work instructions, and suggests ways for continual improvement.- Create, maintain, analyze and evaluate quality metrics to determine where the most repetitive and costly quality issues exist.- Work with plant personnel to drive process improvements through better process flow, training of workers, improved tooling/fixtures, and six sigma techniques.- Work as a liaison between engineering department and manufacturing to ensure tolerances are matched with process capabilities in the plants.- Using knowledge of APQP, PPAP and customer requirements, ensure a smooth and timely launch of new and changedproducts.- Functions as lead internal auditor.- Complete PPAP, FEMA, and other related documentation when requested by customer.- Prepare status reports of ongoing issues to be used in weekly quality meetings at the manufacturing plants Requirements - Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: - Bachelor's Degree, preferably a technical degree. Equivalent experience considered- 5 years minimum experience in a manufacturing environment- Reading and understanding blueprints- Use of basic inspection gages and inspection techniques.- Statistical Process Control (SPC)- Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD T)- Proficient in APQP- Understand and comply with established ISO (9000/13485)procedures- Knowledge of statistical techniques, shop floor systems, TS16949, PFMEA's, Control Plans, and APQP.- Solid understanding of the AIAG PPAP process.- Experience in conducting internal audits.- Systematic problem solving skills such as 8D, 7-Step, etc.- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, suppliers, and customers.- Demonstrated analytical abilities necessary to plan and prioritize own work, complete work on time and maintainrequired records and logs.- Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.- Self-motivated and able to work in a team environment.
