Provides for a clean facility through environmental services. Cleans patient rooms on a daily basis according to schedule, including dusting, damp mopping and cleaning bathroom and tub rooms. Cleans patient units upon discharge in a timely manner, make up the unit according to plan and leave unit an orderly manner. Unpacks linen when returned from laundry, keeping shelves in neat order and reporting any soiled, torn or shortage or linen to supervisor. Cleans public restrooms and restocks them as needed per schedule and reports any equipment repairs that are needed to the Environmental Services Manager immediately. Follows procedure for use of cleaning equipment and supplies within established safety rules. Uses wet floor signs appropriately. Is familiar with MSDS book and uses chemicals only in properly marked containers and removes all cleaning equipment from halls when not in use and during break times. Reports all safety hazards to Environmental Services Manager immediately as well as low levels of supplies. Cleans other areas as requested and, per schedule, third floor, emergency room, hallways, offices and Physical Therapy. Follows infection control procedures at all times using universal precautions and personal protective equipment as appropriate. Facilitates the deliver of food services to maintain standards for high quality food and patient satisfaction. Transports meals form nursing home. Receives meals form meal preparation kitchen and places on patient trays according to procedure and menu to assure delivery of meals to patients in timely and orderly fashion. Prepares food when required, according to established standards and procedures using utensils appropriately. Assures food is at proper temperature by recording temperature per schedule and taking corrective action when necessary (below 45 degrees F or above 140 degrees F). Maintains and orders food and supplies. Receives supplies from vendors, checking with purchase order for accuracy and assures they are of good quality and properly stored. Uses proper hand washing techniques and maintains a "clean as you go" attitude and sanitizes work area to provide for proper conditions for food production as all times. Maintains clean and sanitized equipment/utensils/dishes using the prescribed method and cleaning agents. Promotes hospitality for the campus assisting in maintaining positive public relations. Promotes and atmosphere of teamwork by establishing and maintaining productive working relationships throughout the healthcare system, accepting feedback non-defensively and maintaining a professional relationship with Medical Center staff. Conveys a sense of hospitality towards visitors, patients and their families, greeting them with warmth, assisting them with directions or helping them find their way and making them feel welcome. Provides hospitality services for internal meetings by providing the table service and drinks according to the number attending and makes any guest feel welcome should there be an opportunity for interaction. Provides assistance to nurse with patient care as requested.
Experience : Previous experience in institution or restaurant food preparation preferred. Education: High school graduate or equivalent required. Must be able to read and write and perform calculations converting pounds and ounces and ability to deal with functions. Must have a valid Minnesota driver's license.

Schedule Details: Per-diem position; no guaranteed hours. Would work as-needed to fill in shifts per the department's needs.
Weekend Schedule: Every weekend 4-7 pm.
