Manager, Physician Compensation

The Manager of Physician Compensation directs strategic planning and operations for physician compensation design and strategy that aligns with Texas Children¿s goals to attract, retain and motivate top tier physicians. The Manager of Physician Compensation reports directly to the Assistant Vice President of Human Resources and directly leads two professionals that support our physician population of over 1000 physicians, including all pediatric sub-specialties, Ob/Gyn and both academic and private practice physicians. The Manager works collaboratively with physician practice operational senior leaders and executives as well as physician leadership to lead best-practice strategies by:
¿ Providing strategic guidance to the design and implementation of competitive compensation and benefits programs, organizational structure, performance management, workforce planning, job and fair market value evaluation.
¿Collaborating with finance, legal, physician services, quality and other departments.
¿Providing leadership to a team managing challenging, complex physician compensation projects, such as the development of pay programs, policies, practices and integration of productivity metrics with compensation data.
¿Ensuring work is compliant all legal and regulatory requirements. Coordinates cost analysis and monitoring as well as collaborates with independent third-party consultant for Board-level committees.
¿Planning and organizing executive committees related to physician compensation.
¿Ensuring programs and plans are competitive, cost effective, drive and reward a high performance culture and are aligned with Texas Children¿s current and future strategic direction.
¿Utilizing complex aspects of computerized word processing, spreadsheet, presentation software and HR systems. Ability to present information concisely and dynamically, work autonomously, and maintain flexibility and adaptability.
The formal education and experience normally associated with completely satisfactory performance in this job is:
¿Bachelor¿s degree in Business Administration, or related discipline.
¿A minimum of 5 years of human resources or finance experience in healthcare, physician practice or related experience.
¿Demonstrated experience in project and/or team leadership.
Preferred qualifications include a master¿s degree in business, human resources, finance or related discipline ; experience in designing and developing physician compensation and a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation.
