LOCATION OF POSITION

Clifton T. Perkins Hospital Center, Jessup, MD

Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to provide hospital wide education & training to assist staff in meeting the requirements of hospital safety and competence in Joint Commission Standards, Clifton T Perkins Hospital Center (CTPHC) policies and procedures that impact the delivery of care to CTPHC patients. Job duties include: Orientation of new employees and departmental orientation for nursing staff; CPR training; and, professional development.

MINIMUM EDUCATION OR GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

Education: A bachelor's degree in Nursing or a related field from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Two years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a psychiatric setting.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

1. Candidates for positions in this classification must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse from the Maryland State Board of Nursing, 4140 Patterson Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland 21215.

2. Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.

3.Employees in this classification may be required to successfully complete and maintain a current certification of cardiopulmonary resuscitation training.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Employees in this classification are subject to call-in and, therefore, will be required to provide the facility with a phone number where they can be reached.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
