Purpose of Role

Mars Symbioscience is currently seeking a junior-mid Software Developer who has at least a year of Magento experience. The successful candidate must also have proven experience with PHP and Subversion.

The Web Developer will lead the development of Mars Botanical’s eCommerce and business web sites. This role will be responsible for managing, supporting and optimizing existing systems as well as building out new systems utilizing leading edge technology and online business practices. The ideal candidate for this role will have a solid development background, a proven background of implementing new technologies to drive business objectives, as well as a proven ability to manage complex projects from start to finish. This role will also give the right candidate the opportunity to grow and expand their skill set by working with a forward thinking marketing & technology team that are focused on building new online and retail businesses.

Principal Accountabilities

-

Maintain / support existing Magento eCommerce & micro sites including cocoavia.com, marsbotanical.com, healthycocoa.com.

-

Support the continued build out of our Magento eCommerce platforms along with ensuring proper site integration with fulfillment centers, call centers, and other systems.

Work with marketing team to implement leading edge technologies in to our web sites to increase product awareness, create web communities, and generate product sales.

Ensure that our sites are maximizing our investments in SEM and working with our business partners, as well as sharing best practices & knowledge across business segments.

Key Functional Skills/Knowledge

-

Solid ecommerce experience, ideally on the Magento Enterprise Platform

-

Experience with Zend or CakePHP Frameworks or other genuinely object oriented enterprise quality Frameworks

-

Extensive familiarity with software design techniques, testing plans and procedures, and deployment practices, which ensure excellent quality, performance, scalability, and availability of the web applications

-

Strong foundation in Software Engineering, Operating Systems, Databases, Networking, and Web protocols

-

Solid experience in developing /supporting PHP coded sites is a must

-

Proven ability to work with designers to transform design visions in to working sites

-

Identify and evaluate commercially available solutions against requirements and present recommendations

-

Manage and direct requests for system enhancements and support

-

Manage vendors responsible for hosting

Qualifications

Key Experiences

-

2+

years experience with web business systems development & support

-

2+ years in web development / programming

-

2+ years developing/supporting ecommerce businesses

-

1+ year leading/managing web development projects including ecommerce.

-

Working knowledge of PCI requirements

Desired Education

  • Bachelors degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or
related field

  • 1+ year working with Magnto including customization and development of
modules, preferred
