PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

A Master’s degree in Public Health, Social Work or a health related field

Two (2) years of experience working with diverse ethnic and cultural groups

Two (2) years of experience in public health planning and/or community organizing

Two (2) years of experience working with public health multidisciplinary teams

DESCRIPTION

This is a highly professional position with lead responsibility for developing, planning, and coordinating activities/programs for Broward >AIDS High Impact HIV Prevention and Care initiatives in Broward County’s minority communities. The incumbent will provide leadership and support to the Broward County HIV Prevention Planning Council and all its workgroups. This position reports to the HIV Prevention Director.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES

Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of equivalent experience

Four (4) years of experience

Language: English – Bilingual ability preferred (Spanish and/or Creole)

Knowledge of data base systems (i.e.; Excel)

Ability to analyze data

Knowledge of public health, outreach, and educational models related to HIV/AIDS

Ability to work with multiple disciplines and a variety of service providers

Ability to demonstrate cultural competence with diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic groups/populations

Organizational skills with developing time lines and meeting deadlines

Proficient in MS Word/Excel, MS office, power point

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Valid driver’s license

Ability to communicate effectively, attend meetings, assist with coordination and reporting of special events

Ability to develop community partnerships and linkages with local providers,

Ability to prepare and develop work plans and planning groups, provide consultation, technical assistance, leadership development and training to community groups
