Performs complex ultrasound/scans of liver, gallbladder, pancreas, aorta, kidney, pelvis, abdomen, breast, testicle, pleural effusion, vascular evaluation for DVT, obstetrical patients when unusual deviation from standard position and patient size, technical factors are required.

Keeps current on new technologies and maintains a high level of expertise by reading manuals, and attending lectures and seminars. Passes expertise on to other technicians through training in both routine and unusual ultrasound examinations and formal lectures. Assists staff clinicians that utilize the ultrasound section to perform amniocentesis, biopsies and cyst punctures and must be able to suggest the most beneficial procedure to the physician. Maintains records of patients examined, examinations performed, views taken, and technical factors used. Must be able to translate these factors and techniques to personnel training, as well as supervise these personnel while they are performing practical studies. Performs other duties as assigned. Maybe required to stand at least one week of call per month.

Certification Requirement: ARDMS Registry in OBGYN

Qualifications and Evaluations

To qualify for this position, your resume must show sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered.

One year of specialized experience that demonstrates knowledge of complex and state-of-art ultrasound techniques, including the ability to independently select proper size of transducers, changes in time gain factors, how to control density, contrast, and distortion, in order to produce high quality scans.

A 40 hour work week is typical for this position.
Requires rotating shift work.
This position requires shift work and may include evening and weekend work.
