Assists with coordinating activities of nursing staff, patients, physicians, other hospital departments and external customers through communication, requisitioning and management of supplies and equipment. Performs general receptionist and clerical duties in order to facilitate efficient functioning of the nursing unit.
Minimal Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Minimal Work Experience: Previous secretarial experience in a hospital, nursing home or physician office
Required License/Certification: Heart Savers Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification
Required Skills: Medical terminology
Type at least 50 words per minute
Excellent verbal communication in person and on telephone
Excellent written communication
Read, write, understand and communicate clearly in English
Use a computer for clinical data entry/retrieval
Organize and prioritize work, act independently
Utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills
