This position is located in the Division of Risk Management Supervision, Atlanta Region, Atlanta Regional Office, Atlanta, Georgia, of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and is responsible for providing clerical support associated with filing, retrieving, and disposing of documents for the organizational unit. The candidate selected will be offered a term appointment not-to-exceed 2 years, which may be extended to a maximum of 4 years based on workload requirements and organizational staffing authorizations.

DUTIES:
Under the general supervision of the Administrative Officer, the incumbent will perform a variety of general clerical and office automation duties in connection with human resources and administrative programs. Duties will include preparing personnel action requests; maintaining personnel and administrative files; preparation of appointment and background check documents for new employees; liaison with Division of Administration staff for office supply orders, copy center requests, internal office moves, and equipment needs; responding to inquiries from DRMS staff; providing support for meeting arrangements; and using a variety of automated systems to track and maintain data.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
CG-5: In order to qualify for this position, applicants must have at least 1 year of specialized experience (equivalent to the CG/GS-4 grade level in the federal service) performing routine clerical or administrative duties. Duties must have involved drafting correspondence, managing mail and postage, tracking activities and project completion, filing records, receiving callers to the office, and using software to prepare written materials.

Alternatively, applicants may qualify based on education. The education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the duties of the position. For this position, you must have completed 4 years of education beyond the high school level. This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial, or technical school,k junior college, college, or university. One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school.

Combining Education and Experience: For the CG-5 grade level, only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable towards meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience.
