Provides leadership, communication, and work direction for the employees on assigned line(s) or work unit(s) by delegating responsibilities, assigning tasks and participating in workload as needed.

Drives and holds accountability for line attainment by controlling costs, reducing waste, and performing checks of line efficiencies.

Schedules labor for the line and documents/approves employee time and attendance records

Coaches and reviews the work of others for adherence to quality standards and appropriate line speed.

Demonstrates job functions and orients/trains new employee to the line or work unit.

Completes and approves routine, daily production paperwork, ensuring proper documentation for functional area is followed.

Communicates with Supervisor on any problems that occur on the line or work unit.

Works with Quality Assurance by following direction given or fixing problems as instructed.

Contacts Maintenance to resolve equipment issues requiring their immediate attention.

Ensures compliance with USDA and OSHA.

Provides input and recommendations to supervisor regarding work performance of employees on assigned line. Position does not have independent or final authority to hire, terminate, discipline, appraise performance, or submit adjustments to pay.

Qualifications

Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Two-year degree or other post-secondary education preferred.

Years of Related Experience:
12 months related experience.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Ability to manage time well, deal with multiple tasks and handle stressful situations. Good communication and reasoning skills to retrieve information from co-workers and relay information to and from all employee levels. Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving, and effective communication skills. Must have basic computer and knowledge of or ability to learn SAP. Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred and ability to develop a cohesive working team. Must be able to understand and operate machinery. Prior manufacturing experience desired. Ability to direct a work crew, delegate responsibilities. Demonstrated commitment to quality and safety.
