Minimum Qualifications

Working knowledge of real estate principles, practices, and law. Excellent oral and written communication, analytical, and negotiation skills; knowledge of basic real estate financial analyses necessary. Effective negotiation skills with ability to bring parties to consensus. Strong computer skills. Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage a variety of large volume assignments efficiently with minimal supervision. Demonstrated ability to grasp the broader functional perspective of Real Estate activities within the university and the interdependency of various support units. Ability to work cooperatively and effectively at various levels within and outside the university. Analytical abilities to foster continuous improvement of processes to enhance business agility and optimize workflow. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive matters. Undergraduate degree in a related field (e.g., real estate, urban planning, public administration, business, or economics) or considerable years of equivalent work experience. Several years experience in commercial real estate such as transactions, asset management, leasing, property management, and substantial experience in analyzing real property transactions, including financial analyses, contract development and negotiation preferred. Experience working with institutions of higher education and VCU financial systems preferred. In addition, demonstrated knowledge of AMTdirect or other comparable lease management data base is required. Ability to work in a diverse environment is required.
