Principal Data Scientist or Database Architect SNEI Data Analytics Services This is a fast paced highvisibility handson engineering position with Sony network entertainment platform engineering team architecting the next generation of platform and data as service capabilities The individual039s primary responsibilities include proactive thought leadership supporting end to end data as a services architecture and necessary framework to support online ecommerce media entertainment platform Position requires candidate to demonstrate expert level Data ILM SDLC interacting and presenting complex technical architecture choices options to peers and stakeholders with similar expertise in their respective areas This position requires interacting with Data Application Architects Development engineering managers QA Integration specialists Candidate must have expert level development of DaaS Architectural components (design coding testing) systemsubsystem definition interfaces product architecture technical leadership and team guidance Position requires extensive handson technical expertise coupled with ingenuity ecommerce platform domain expertise associated technology product knowledge broad industry knowledge and excellent communication skills Candidate expected to work with globally distributed product architects and product owners to engage early and provide continuous delivery of high quality software products that delight Sony customers Must be result oriented individual with a passion to architect and design next generation data driven global media and entertainment platform as a service to support billions of online consumers Performs a key data management and thought leadership role in the areas of enterprise data architecture data modeling data access data integration database design and implementation Expert level database sql query performance tuning experience is required Define propose and achieve data strategy roadmap for enterprise data data vault modeling This includes setting vision gathering requirements gaining business consensus performing vendor and product evaluations mentoring business and development resources deliver solutions training and documentation Provides standards and guidelines for the design development tuning deployment and maintenance of data models and physical databases Designs and creates data architectures and collaborates with peers to translate the solution into a logical and physical data model culminating in flexible end state solutions that can evolve with future business needs satisfying a diverse set of needs including OLTP data provisioning for data mining reporting free form text searches pattern matching mining warehousing analytics Leads harmonization refactoring of data models across the applications and services evolving current heterogeneous application models to a common information hub model Provide technical leadership for logical and physical data model development across applications teams Assists in the development of policies around data quality governance access data retention data security and data stewardship Must be willing to mentor members of the entire team Works with the Product owners and other team members across the enterprise to complement and complete the development process in time and with quality Participates in product roadmap discussions and identify key areas for improvement in the product and incorporate these goals into ongoing future development initiatives BS or Masters Degree in Engineering Computer Science or equivalent experience MS in CS or IS preferred with emphasis on data science architecture and modeling or db design 8+ years experience required in data architecture modeling sw development expert level of programming design and analysis required 3+ years of experience required as data or systems analyst with progressive responsibilities of an Architect or equivalent in a data technology leadership position Recognized by your peers as a data science expert with certifications related to Data Modeling DBA andor data science subjects are highly desirable Must possess outstanding verbal and written communication skills and be able to work with others at all levels Effective at working with geographically remote and culturally diverse teams Must possess the drive and passion for technology with the ability to excite and motivate other team members in various roles in the organization Experience building high performance scalable relational nonrelational Data Models and DBs including Oracle MySQL Cassandra MongoDB and ability to support relational nonrelational data coexisting SQL NOSQL Experience in refactoring and tuning enterprise databases and data access on MPP appliances Extensive recent experience with PaaS DaaS technologies services Experience working in heterogeneous database implementations (MS SQL Oracle PostGres MySQL) Experience with development and enforcement of standards and guidelines for database design and access and latest Data Virtualization Bigdata and Hadoop for traditional SQL users Extensive experience with Agile development methodologies and processes required Proven experience in working with offshore teams to deliver world class results using test driven development resulting in scalable reliable and robust enterprise class data solutions Hands on experience in researching new and emerging technologies to realize potential value business fit and operations and cost efficiencies of implementing such technologies is a must Ability to iteratively and incrementally improve products processes and service offerings Must be highly proficient in a majority of the following domains Oracle RDBMS 11g12g Internals Database
