Demonstrates competency in the performance of duties and responsibilities related to the administration of therapeutic interventions under the direction of a licensed therapist.
1.1 Provides care that maintains patient confidentiality, comfort and safety.
1.2 Administers therapeutic agents and exercise programs according to clinical procedures.
1.3 Selects, provides and instructs in the use of adaptive equipment.
1.4 Assesses patient response to intervention and adjusts care appropriately
1.5 Instructs patient/family in the patient's therapeutic program, including discharge planning.
1.6 Assists Physical Therapist in performing tests, evaluations or complex treatment procedures.

Performance Expectation Description
2.1 Documents patient status, interventions and clinical response in the medical record.
2.2 Verifies required insurance authorizations and physician signatures are current.

2.4 Records accurate patient charges on a daily basis.
2.5 Performs and records blood glucose monitor quality control checks.

Performance Expectation Description
3.1 Communicates with primary Physical Therapist regarding patient's condition, reactions and responses to treatment per department protocol.
3.2 Communicates with other providers regarding the needs and capabilities of each patient.
3.3 Provides verbal and written information to patients and families.
3.4 Provides patient status report for weekend/vacation coverage and orthopedic rounds.
3.5 Participates in daily inpatient discharge planning rounds as assigned.

4.5 Completes clinical competencies annually.
4.6 Serves as a resource for other departments and staff.
