Job Purpose:
Provides corrective and preventative maintenance on all production and support equipment.
Duties:
Troubleshoots and repairs placement machine breakdowns which includes mechanical, electrical and programming.
Troubleshoot to component level on electronic repair, boards.
Troubleshoots and repairs all other equipment needed to manufacture Smiths Medical products.
Creates and implements preventative maintenance procedures.
Modifies, updates and enhances manufacturing equipment in order to produce quality products.
Assists in the training of Maintenance Technician I and II level employees.
Assists Manufacturing Engineering in maintaining proper processes on shop floor.
Determines all spare replacement parts for manufacturing equipment in order to keep equipment downtime to minimum.
Machines small tools for use in manufacturing.
Machines mechanical parts for use on manufacturing equipment.
Generates performance reports.
Position Description & Requirements: Responsibilities:
Responsible for reading and understanding PM and CM procedures as written and perform as required.
Risk Assessment awareness training.
Electrical Safe work practice / Arc Flash NFPA 70E training and other training as required by the Company.
Troubleshoot and repair equipment and machine breakdowns which includes mechanical, electrical and hydraulic machines under limited supervision.
This position is required
to assure compliance of Company operations to all applicable laws, regulations and standards, good business practices and company documented procedures (including but not limited to FDA, Quality Systems Regulations, ISO 13485, ISO 14001, government occupational health and environmental regulations and statutes).
Technical Knowledge and Skills:
Vocational school or educational/experience equivalent.
Five to eight years electro-mechanical troubleshooting and repair of automated assembly equipment and injection molding experience.
Strong troubleshooting skills in electrical, mechanical and pneumatic systems.
Must be able to troubleshoot to component level on electronic repair, boards.
Strong knowledge of PC’s.
Auto cad or E-Drawings, Excel, CMMS and Microsoft Word.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Strong knowledge of machine shop equipment such as mill, drill press, shear and measuring equipment.
Thorough knowledge of assembly processes.
Must be adept in the following skills:
PLC programming, MLS CMMS operation, robotics control software operation, pump repair procedures, piston/screw air compressor repair procedures, 24/120/240 volt wiring practices, DC wattage wiring practices, photoeye/proximity switch set-up/operation, lockout/tagout procedures, compressed air repair procedures, quality control procedures and GMP procedures.
