The Ann Arbor office of SmithGroupJJR is looking for a Systems Administrator to join our Corporate IT team. This person will design, document, implement, and maintain enterprise server infrastructure, provide on-site and remote support on hardware and software issues and ensure complete, successful corporate computer operations. Primary responsibilities include MS Exchange, MS SQL, MS SharePoint, and MS Lync. Additional systems include Active Directory management, server applications, scripting, MS Hyper-V, MS System Center Suite, server standards and server operations (Cisco UCS and HP).

This person will hold a primary role within the corporate infrastructure team and assist in setting strategy for the future. Working with us, you will - Be responsible for server infrastructure design, implementation, standards, and maintenance. - Collaborate, plan and design infrastructure for new enterprise applications. - Engage in a team-oriented approach using shared knowledge, best practices and organizational awareness.

  • Create and maintain infrastructure and system operations documentation. - Provide direction and high level support in multiple integrated technical areasfunctions (i.e. desktop application deployment and configuration, server operations, Group Policies, technical training, backup and archiving cycles, etc.) - Provide day-to-support in conjunction with other IT staff on corporate systems. - Project management of enterprise-wide IT initiatives.
  • Mentor junior IT staff, providing technical guidance and assistance with their professional development. - Troubleshoot, analyze and solve software and equipment problems. - Assist in the design and implementation and assure the operation of business continuity systems. - Assist users and respond effectively to customer concerns and issues.
An ideal candidate has - Bachelor’s degree is required degree in a related field is preferred. - 4-6 years of related experience andor training or equivalent combination of education and experience. - Experience with the following preferred MS Exchange, MS SQL, MS SharePoint, and MS Lync. Additional systems include Active Directory management, server applications, scripting, MS Hyper-V, MS System Center Suite, server standards and server operations (Cisco UCS and HP).

  • MCSE or MCSM Certification is preferred. - Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, management, clients, other offices, etc. in a courteous, effective and professional manner.
