Chartis has an opportunity for a Field Auditor Senior in its Premium Audit department within the New York Region.
As a Field Auditor Senior you will be responsible for:
Servicing an assigned territory.
Determining the proper premium for each risk by physically auditing the policyholder’s records.
Verifying the operations performed classifications and allocations of payroll within manual rules and Company standards.
Handling a variety of large or highly complex risks requiring the highest degree of technical skill.
Communicating findings to insured, underwriting and broker agent.
Job Functions/Responsibilities:
Completes premium audits on commercial accounts. The lines of coverage that will be handled include: Worker's Compensation, General Liability, and Commercial Auto.
Maintains a thorough knowledge of bureau and company manuals, general accounting principles and applicable governmental rulings. These may affect the practice of insurance auditing, Company directives and related documentation.
Plans and executes itineraries of accounts to be audited in compliance with Company policies and standards.
Reviews audit files to become familiar with the exposures indicated. Remains alert to possible additional exposures.
Ensures all exposures are discovered. This ensures the proper premium is developed through accurate review of the Company’s and policyholder’s records. This may include visual observation and interview of the insured and/or his representative.
Classifies and summarizes developed exposures. This includes Manual rules, regulations, policy contract terms and Company Procedures.
Reports changes in address, financial condition and operations to the underwriter. These may affect the insurability of the policyholder and profitability of the Company.
Reviews all claims to verify employment, proper classification and proper allocation of payroll when applicable
Position Requirements
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
College degree ideally with an emphasis on accounting, finance, or risk management.
Must be familiar and have working knowledge of Microsoft products, e-mails, as well as experience working with a laptop.
Minimum of 5 years Insurance Premium Auditing experience
