We have an exciting opportunity for an Executive Director in our Alaska Division based in Anchorage.
The Executive Director is responsible for the overall success of the Alaska including the revenue goal of approximately $960,000 net primarily raised through several key fundraising events. The position will provide opportunities to interface with high profile volunteers , identity and develop new customer relationships as well as cultivate existing relationship, oversee the planning and execution of nationally recognized events to raise funds for a great case, and directly manage staff committed to achieve.
Essential responsibility for the position include : Identification, recruitment and training of high level medical, corporate and community volunteers ; accountability for balanced campaign revenue goals ; supervision and coaching of specialized and administrative staff ; overall leadership of the division reaching their established revenue and health impact goals in compliance with American Heart Association and Western States Affiliate policies .
Successful Candidates will have :
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
Minimum 5 years experience in progressively responsible positions in fundraising or outside sales, preferably with a volunteer health organization
Demonstrated ability to achieve results through strong high profile volunteer recruitment, training and management is preferred
5+ years of successful experience in managing staff
Proven track record in meeting/exceeding fundraising goals
Highly effective organization, multi-tasking, communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills. Proven skills in writing clear and concise reports, correspondence, evaluations and other narratives
Demonstrated administrative and leadership ability, with particular skills in budgeting, management and group dynamics
Ability and willing to travel and work night and weekends as required
