Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Teaching coursework in Risk Management & Insurance and Finance in the Business Administration program.
Developing new courses, including online courses and other distance delivery modes as assigned.
Providing academic advising and supervising practicum students.
Teaching courses using distance education technology.
High quality teaching and effective advising of students is a must for this job.
This person will be expected to conduct scholarly activity, professional development, program assessment and service to the college and the broader community.
Doctorate degree from an accredited college or university in Business or a closely related field; evidence of high quality teaching and potential for conducting relevant scholarly and applied research. Preference will be given to applicants with a demonstrated record of teaching, research, and industry experience in Risk Management & Insurance (preferably Property & Casualty).
Associate Professor Minimum Qualifications
In addition to the minimum qualifications above, five years of full-time college or university teaching at the rank of Assistant Professor. Preference will be given to applicants with a demonstrated record of teaching, research, and industry experience in Risk Management & Insurance (preferably Property & Casualty).
Ability to interact effectively in a multicultural setting.
Demonstrated ability to teach distance education courses.
Eagerness to try innovative delivery strategies for direct and distance students to meet discipline and/or university-wide learning objectives.
A record of, or potential for, developing relationships with the business community.
