Sodexo is seeking a Senior Area General Manager of Environmental Services / Custodial Services for a potential sale in Worchester, Massachusetts. This is an extremely highly regarded Hospital System including seven total locations. This role will oversee a 300 bed facility with over 2.3 Million in cleanable square feet and five additional sites. Must have the ability to drive change, motivate, develop staff and focus on client and customer relations in a union environment while directly managing 375-400 employees.
This unique role will report both internally to Sodexo and our clients’ Senior Leadership team The Area Operations Manager will work closely with Senior Leadership on process improvement and will have a direct component of sustainability responsibility to support the efforts of our client. The ability to conduct presentations to senior management is key.
This position will have system wide responsibility for Process Improvement and performance measurement throughout and accountability for evaluating processes, leading teams, developing changes to processes along with operators, implementing process improvement through others and ultimately measuring and driving results. Lean Six Sigma green or black belt is highly desired but not required. Technical knowledge and competency of Environmental Services is strongly desired.
The ideal candidate will have continuous Custodial / Housekeeping Senior Management experience in a healthcare/hospital setting as a Director, General Manager or similar Management role.
Top in-unit leadership position for a “system” of accounts. Single point of contact for client liaison to drive and support the expectations of Sodexo Divisions while supporting our mission and values. This position would support system/multi-site business that in total is greater than $10 million in managed volume (mega accounts) with one or more core services, ES, Eng, Food. The position would support the selling strategy of targeting large “system sales.”
Qualifications & Requirements:
Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor's Degree
Basic Management Experience - 4 years
Basic Functional Experience - 4 years work experience in facilities (e.g., maintenance, plant operations, engineering services, grounds, custodial/environmental, or transportation) or food (e.g., food services or operations, concessions, retail sales, store operations, or vending) services
Sodexo will require a background check and may require a drug screen for this position.
