LOCATION

: Geisinger Medical Center Hospital WORK SCHEDULE

: Days, Monday - Friday 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Rotating weekends WORK TYPE : Full Time

JOB SUMMARY:

Provides direct leadership to assigned staff of daily tasks.

Pars, picks and distributes pharmaceuticals, *supplies and equipment in support of department goals and objectives.

Assists in supporting an inventory management and PAR system.

Assists with afterhours receiving and shipping of all material including verification of material and quantity to Lawson purchase order specification, inspection for visible damage or shortage.

Accurately processes related documents into system and dispatches material to proper destination.

Responds immediately to daily supply and equipment requirements.

Completes documents and accurately works with the Lawson system.

Performs duties to support the goals and objectives of the Geisinger System in its efforts to provide quality patient care and patient satisfaction.

*Supplies throughout this document are to include all linen supplies.

Reports directly to the Logistics Operations Coordinator or Operations Supervisor.

COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

*Demonstrates ability to read and perform arithmetic calculations, follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively orally and in writing (in English).

*Demonstrates ability to be certified on all electric pallet movers and equipment.

*Demonstrates basic computer skills.

*Demonstrates a reasonable comfort level with technology and associated devices.

*Demonstrates excellent organizational skills.

*Demonstrates excellent communication skills.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

*High School graduate or equivalent required.

*Minimum two years prior supervisory / lead experience required.

*Minimum two years inventory or clerical experience required.

*Minimum six months on the job to learn to identify medical and surgical supplies and equipment and become familiar with all duties required.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

*Requires the ability to lift up to 70 pounds.

*Lifting to waist level and above is required.

*Also requires pushing and pulling of carts with weights ranging from 100 to 500 pounds combined.

*These duties are performed 50% to 60% of the workday.

*Occasional shift floating possible.
