Under general direction, assist the Chief of Wildlife - Regional Operations in the planning, coordination, direction and evaluation of the comprehensive regional programs of the Wildlife Section. Learn the planning, coordination and administration requirements of the Federal Wildlife Restoration Program W-30 including grant development, budgeting, implementation, monitoring and reporting. Develop a usable knowledge of SCEIS as it specifically relates to all section project accounts. Assist the Chief in expenditure monitoring and development of FY14 budgets. Learn the S.C. regulation process as directed in the Legislative Procedures Act. Assist the Chief in coordinatig the hunting programs on all DNR WMAs and Heritage Preserves including incorporation of all season data from the field into the Rules and Regulations Brochure. Assist the Chief in administration of the WMA program including knowledge of all leases and cooperators, understanding of the WMA Permit funding mechanism and payment requirements.

Minimum and Additional Requirements:


A Master's degree and three (3) years of related experience; or a Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in Wildlife and eight (8) years applicable experience. Strong organizational and communication skills (written and verbal). Knowledge and skills associated with supervision of a large staff. Knowledge of date collection and analysis systems with applications for wildlife harvest and survey data management. Purchasing experience with state government.

Additional Comments:

Extensive overnight travel may be required.
