Manager, Health Information System Projects II
        Description: The Information Systems Project Manager is responsible for the implementation and maintenance planning for the educational information technology infrastructure that support the undergraduate medical education curriculum for the School of Medicine as well as managing the development team that supports those systems. Required Skills: - Strong organizational skills - Experience managing moderately complex projects, combining commercial and in-house developed components - Strong leadership, interpersonal, and team-building skills - Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels of the institution - Strong problem solving skills and ability to learn new technologies and absorb business needs quickly - Ability to facilitate communication between departments and cross-functional work teams - Strong understanding of project management tools and methodologies - Demonstrated ability to develop a critical path for large-scale project implementation from design to production - Ability to schedule tasks and appropriately allocate resources for completion as part of project life-cycle Preferred Skills: - Project management in higher education - Project management involving both commercial and in-house-developed technology - Understanding of health sciences education environment - Knowledge of curriculum management system implementation - Familiarity with agile project management - Understanding of web application and database development/scripting languages (e.g. MySQL, PHP, Perl) Key Functions and Expected Performances: - Coordinate and oversee selection and implementation of curriculum management system and learning management system for the School of Medicine - Work closely with leadership and business officers within the School of Medicine and Biomedical informatics to determine goals and requirements, define project scope, set timelines, and provide regular progress reports - Develop a critical path to ensure timely completion of project tasks in line with institutional objectives - Coordinate purchase, installation, and testing of selected curriculum/learning management systems - Coordinate and lead steering committee and implementation team meetings as needed - Coordinate integration of curriculum/learning systems with existing curriculum support systems - Foster collaborative relationships between members of cross-functional work teams - Manage the day to day activities of the development team - Periodically perform best practices audits of systems and processes to identify gaps and areas for improvement Basic Qualifications This position requires a Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of relevant experience. Applicants with PMP certification or Master’s-level education will be given special consideration. Basic Qualifications Job requires Bachelor's and 3 years of experience or the equivalent.
