Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer, this senior management position is responsible for organizing, directing and providing member relations; developing and management of ASCIP communication activities; coordinating, directing and organizing member service operations; and conducting regular planning and coordination of members’ overall ASCIP experience. The principal objective for this position is to develop and maintain member satisfaction with ASCIP. This position is responsible for ensuring consistent and clear communication between ASCIP, its members and the public; and enhancing understanding of ASCIP activities, services, and events.

Essential Duties:
Membership Relationship Management

Conduct regular in-person meetings with members’ representatives; assessing their coverage, risk management, and loss control needs. Attend other member meetings as required.
In collaboration with the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer, develop a written service and coverage plan for each member which will include a specific risk management and loss control budget and documenting how that service will be provided.
Design and implement a regular monitoring process for the timeliness and quality of service events.
Supervise, coordinate, and direct utilization and implementation of ASCIP’s customer relationship management tool.
Identification and development of prospective members.
Serve as the primary contact for new membership applications and request for proposals from current members. This position will coordinate, collect and prepare necessary information and documentation for review by ASCIP staff in preparing proposals and responses relating to membership.
Monitor members’ board agendas for matters that may have business implications for ASCIP.

Communications

Development and implementation of a comprehensive communication plan for members and prospective members.
Drafting, proofing, and release of ASCIP announcements, press releases, Risk Alerts and advisories, and marketing materials.
Production and distribution of an ASCIP quarterly newsletter.
Design and production of ASCIP’s Annual Report.
Set and maintain written style standards for all communications coming from ASCIP including templates for use in written correspondence, presentations, marketing, and educational materials.
Management of ASCIP’s website including content and functionality.

Industry Engagement

Participate as needed and represent ASCIP at various industry and member meetings and conferences.
Actively monitor, track, and disseminate risk and insurance related news and developments affecting ASCIP and its members.
Maintain a database of competitors’ rates, insurance coverage, and marketing activities.

Staff Management

Supervision and management of the Member Services Analyst.
Develop and host regular member service training events for staff.

Desired Skills & Experience

Minimum Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Ten years of increasingly responsible experience and expertise with schools/colleges/public entities and their risk management needs (or related experience).
Familiarity with California joint power authorities.
Related industry designations/certifications are desirable.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Expert in developing and strengthening professional relationships.
Excellent organizational and recordkeeping skills.
Ability to prepare, lead and conduct presentations.
Ability to work collaboratively and constructively with co-workers and business colleagues.
