Summary of Position (general responsibility and purpose):
Assist in the development and design of project drawings, details, and specifications, within budget and on time, in accordance with current Civil Engineering knowledge and practices. The purpose of this position is to provide professional, technical day-to-day support, guidance, coordination, and input to other project team members relating to the design of structural elements.

Educational/Skill/Specialization Requirements:
Bachelor's or a Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Registered Professional Engineer in the state where the employee is located, with the ability to apply for registration in other states as necessary for business operations; and with 10-15 years of progressive engineering experience required. Advanced knowledge and experience using computer-aided design and drafting programs using the company standard versions of AutoCAD, spreadsheets (Excel) and word processing programs (MS Word).

Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Ambitious, quality concious, teamwork oriented engineer. Position offers the opportunity to become a senior member of the office management team and gain additional experience in areas of aviation, transportation, utility systems, site development, and/or water/wastewater resources. USKH is an established multidisciplinary firm and provides opportunities to advance. Primary job responsibility will be to utilize AutoDesk Civil 3D software to design and prepare site plans, profiles, and details for construction documents or to check the work done under supervision. Other job responsibilities will include preparing specifications, conducting site investigation, preparing or reviewing feasibility studies and design reports; project management; and other project related administrative documents. Working in teams, including with other disciplines and design professionals is required to develop projects from initial concepts to design completion and sometimes through construction. Experience writing proposals and preparing fee estimates will be required. Position will transition into management of civil department staff as warranted.
