Virginia Western Community College, located in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains of the Roanoke Valley, is accepting applications for an Applications Programmer/Analyst (Information Technology Specialist II). This is a support position with the Administrative & Web Applications Support group in the College's Information and Educational Technologies department. This position provides system analysis, development, maintenance, training, and support of administrative computer applications and systems to meet the department's organizational objectives and strategic goals, which support the mission of the college. This position will also serve as liaison with other Virginia Community College development personnel and mission critical workgroups. Occasional overnight travel is required.

Minimum Qualifications
Associate's degree in Information Systems Technology/Programming. At least 2 years programming/analysis experience including database. Must be technically oriented (strong analytical and problem solving skills), strong programming skills and strong understanding of relational databases, excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), self-motivated, good multi-tasking skills, attention to detail, quality oriented, flexible, and committed to successful on-time completion of tasks.

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems Technology/Programming preferred. Programming/Analysis experience with PeopleSoft Student Information System and Human Resource Management System including SQL, SQR, PeopleTools, Query, and Crystal Reports.
