This position is located in the Office of Technology, Services and Innovation of the International Broadcasting Bureau. This positiondirects the planning, development, acquisition, deployment, construction, and testing of the global distribution system used in transporting broadcast video, audio, and data information in local and global networks using satellites, dedicated circuits, Internet, MPLS, and other advanced data networking techniques.

The Broadcasting Board of Governors (BBG), an independent federal agency, is an exciting, multi cultural organization that encompasses all U.S. civilian international broadcasting. Duties include but are not limited to the following:
-- Plans, organizes and oversees the design, development, acquisition, deployment, installation, testing, operator training and life cycle support of large scale satellite, telecommunications, and data networks to support content distribution operations.
-- Oversees the selection of qualified contractors to provide systems engineering, design, and development support.
-- Establishes guidelines for the approval of specifications and monitoring of contractor activities.
-- Manages and supervises through subordinate staff the full range of activities related to the daily administration, maintenance, and modification of local and global networks.
-- Provides dynamic leadership to the data networking and telecommunications community especially in the conceptualizationand development of data and telecommunications network systems for global delivery of video, audio, and data.
Basic Qualifications: Applicants must have (1) one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level which is directly related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience are: Supervises a staff of telecommunications and data network specialists; plans, assigns, and reviews the work of subordinates; establishes performance plans and evaluates performance; determines long and short range data interchange and telecommunications; ensures global network needs are met in the most responsive, effective, and efficient manner. Applicant must have experiencing in planning and managing satellite, telecommunications, and data networks that support audio, video and data distribution operations.
Suitability Determination: If selected, you will be subject to a security investigation to establish your suitability for federal employment. The security investigation will include, among other aspects, a review of your credit and legal history.
This position may require you to serve a 1-year supervisory/managerial probationary period
