Provide consultative sales services to prospective members of all BCBSRI individual lines of business, including, Health, Dental and Medicare plan options in order to create increased sales. Retains, generates and increases sales by accurately handling all inbound telephone call and making outbound calls as scheduled. Ensure compliance in all aspects of sales activities in accordance with the corporate standards as well as all CMS, Federal and State regulations/guidance.
REPRESENTATIVE JOB DUTIES (listed in order of importance, maximum of 10):
While working as a team with other Inside Sales Representatives, handle all inbound and outbound phone calls in order to increase and retain membership of all individual products.
Respond to all leads coming into the department within prescribed time frames. Leads may be received by means other than telephone, such as Internet requests, written requests, walk-in inquiries, and personal requests of other corporate employees.
Identify and qualify leads for eligibility and directs all qualified prospects to the appropriate sales process (as prescribed by management) to facilitate enrollment into our programs so that each representative and the departments as a whole meets monthly enrollment goals.
Fully support and participate on work teams, committees and key marketing activities as requested. Assist with clerical work associated with enrollment, respond to inquires, and foster problem resolution whenever possible. Ensure compliance in all aspects of sales activities with internal policies as well as all regulatory agencies.
Identify areas for improvement and look for process efficiencies that can be made. Support Regional Healthcare Representatives, Manager and Director when necessary on special projects.
Work with department management and external trainers to improve sales skills to increase effectiveness.
Perform other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:
RI Producers License must be obtained during the probationary period and must be maintained while employed as a sales representative.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
- Knowledge of marketing, finance and the health care industry
- Strong interpersonal, PC and customer service skills required.

Minimum Education and Experience:
Preferred Education, Additional Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Healthcare or Business Administration preferred
- Minimum of one to two years of related experience including cold calling, purchasing, marketing and sales required
- Ability to be persistent but courteous
- Good organizational and record keeping skills required
