Service Desk Specialist provides operational and technical support to computer users with a primary focus on installing and configuring personal computers, printers and peripheral equipment, assisting with capacity planning for computers and networks, providing support to clients both onsite and though remote access tools.
SPECIFIC LIST OF DUTIES
Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair various computer equipment, peripherals, and data communications and network systems.
Providing end user support via remote assistance and telephone.
Assist incoming helpdesk requests through our internal ticket tracker.
Maintain user accounts and databases.
Assist in the implementation of IT services as guided by senior IT staff.
Assist in maintaining servers, workstations, network configurations, and other electronic communication devices in a mid-sized enterprise network.
Troubleshoot network and desktop performance issues.
Support and enforce company information policies and procedures.
Assist in maintaining network applications and services (DNS, WINS, AD, RDP, network storage, ERP) as a frontline technician.
Assist in maintaining software inventory and tagged asset management.
Assist in administrating the telephone system and all user handsets.
Assist in creating or updating end user support documents.
Minimum of 2 years of IT experience in a directed environment.
2 years of experience supporting Microsoft Windows XP Professional and Widows 7 Professional, Terminal Services Clients, and Microsoft Office 2003, 2007 and 2010.
Must be able to support Outlook 2003, 2007 and 2010 in Exchange server environment.
Experience with Microsoft BPOS or Office 365 services.
Experience with Windows Server 2003 and later, Exchange Server 2007 or 2010.
Experience with Xerox and Toshiba printers and copier systems.
Strong understanding of PC and Server hardware system components.
Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN
Experience supporting Blackberry, Droid and iPhone devices connected to Exchange Server.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
